N O T I C E 

A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council will be held on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in the New Hope Town Hall, 121 Rockcrest Road, New Hope, Collin County, TX 75071, in accordance with the following: 


A G E N D A 

Item 1.          Call to order and Roll call.            Public Comments.      A person may address the Council on items not on the printed agenda. Comments are limited to three (3) minutes per speaker with 45 minutes total time for Public Comments.  The Town Council may not comment or deliberate regarding such statements or comment during this period. Any discussion of the subject must be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a future meeting.


Item 2.    Consent items:

  • Minutes from previous meetings
  • Treasurer’s report(s)     

Item 3.    a. Report from Code Enforcement Officer Bob Matthews with updates on current and on-going violations.

    b. Appoint liaison to the Code Enforcement Officer

Item 4.    Report from Road Commissioner Terry Sanner.  

Item 5.    Discussion and possible action on Town consensus for a preferred TXDOT option for the location of the future Hwy 380 alignment near New Hope.

Item 6.    Discuss and take action on permitting Around the Town Artisans to use Town Park for possible recurring pop-up markets. 

Item 7.    a. Presentation of proposed budget by Mayor Angel Hamm. 

    b. Set dates for budget and tax rate workshop.

Item 8.    Update regarding proposed survey on Internet access from Alderman Kelly Hughes.

Item 9.    Discuss and take action on approving Resolution No. 2018-005-R, establishing a Media and Communications Committee.

Item 10.       Discuss and take action on approving Resolution No. 2018-006-R, appointing and retaining James W. Wilson, a Texas licensed attorney of the law firm of James W. Wilson & Associates, PLLC, to serve as the Town Attorney and general legal counsel to the Town, and Maria Huynh, a Texas licensed attorney of counsel to the law firm, to serve as Assistant Town Attorney; approving compensation for the provision of legal services; and providing for an effective date.

Item 12.        Set or confirm date for the next regular Town Council meeting on August 28, 2018 and workshop(s), if any.
